Our Approach

Alderman acquires, grows, and stewards its investments with an exclusive focus on long-term decisions to drive long-term success.

The Alderman Difference

Evergreen Structure

Unlike most private investment funds that must sell companies after a few years, Alderman's evergreen structure allows for an indefinite holding period. This enables us to invest in people, culture, and resources that may be hard to justify in a pre-determined timeframe but undeniably enhance long-term value.

Growth & Cash Flow

Alderman's investment thesis is rooted in commitment to growing our companies to achieve their maximum potential, while instilling the financial discipline to produce consistent cash flow for investors along the way. This approach not only drives long-term success for our companies but also fosters a reliable return on investment for those supporting our vision.

Legacy Minded

From day one, Alderman has sought companies where employees are like family, customer and supplier relationships run deep, and legacy matters. We embrace the responsibility of respecting relationships and honoring legacies in the next chapter of our companies.

Local Roots

Since 2015, Alderman has proudly invested in companies, supported careers, and created success in Chattanooga. As Alderman has grown, our reach has expanded to the Southeast for new platform investments and across the country for strategic add-on investments.

Investment Criteria

For new platform companies, we seek profitable companies ($1MM+ EBITDA) with capable and motivated teams, high margins, growing industries, and located in the greater Southeast region.

For add-on acquisitions to our existing companies, we seek the same criteria but with no size or geographic limitations.
